About Caeleste
Caeleste is an innovative group of engineers, scientists & enthusiasts who innovate CMOS
image sensors. We push the boundaries to create unique, “beyond state-of-the art” solutions that
differentiate our customers from their competitors. We are a global company based in Belgium,
partnering with world-class, multi-national companies in the space, scientific, medical, industrial,
and life science industries. At Caeleste, having fun goes hand-in-hand with our innovative
By becoming a part of Caeleste, you will be able to experience the direct impact of your ideas
and actions, regardless of your role or seniority.

Electronics Hardware Design Engineer (Mixed-Signal)
To strengthen our system & test team we are looking for an electronics design engineer who will
conceptualize and craft systems, PCBs and CoBs used to validate & characterize novel CMOS
image sensors.
Your responsibilities and tasks cover the entire hardware production process from concept to final
product. These include a broad scope including examination of technological specifications and
functional requirements, schematic design, functional & signal integrity simulation, PCB design &
layout, hands-on bring-up of new hardware platforms. Once finished you will assist, in close
collaboration with FPGA and software engineers, in debugging & characterizing new CMOS image
sensor prototypes (and production runs) on your hardware platforms. With increasing complexity
of the image sensors, your designs need to bring high-speed mixed signal prototypes & products
alive to accommodate complex sensors & data acquisition systems. You will work in close
collaboration with chip design engineers, project managers and you will interact with and manage
external suppliers and service providers.

Although the prime focus is a hardware design environment and supplier interaction, your
thorough upfront analysis, documented and first-time-right approach is critical for a quality
focused collaboration in a team of experts that depend on your crucial contributions in a project
driven organization. You will have a significant amount of autonomy and will take up impactful
responsibilities in the team. We foster experience, but also welcome junior engineers with great

In Caeleste, you are not just an employee but a member of a family. I understood that from how I was welcomed into my new career by my new colleagues on the first day. I was surrounded by curious and creative minds that were ready to share their experiences and insights with me and guide me through the obstacles. It was my first step to a professional life and I adapted to it easily thanks to the support of my colleagues. I feel part of an academy where all of us are both student and teacher and where the ideas can be freely discussed. Caeleste is the place where those creative ideas turn into innovative designs through experience. I feel lucky to be a part of this creation process.

Bilgesu Sezgin
Junior Analog Designer

As a lead design engineer, I analyze specifications from customers and translate the requirements to architecture. Next, we use this architecture to design an image sensor that is the beating heart of our customers’ next frontier project. I can see a project growing from customer specifications up to real images taken by the realized silicon in our test system.
The aspect I like the most about Caeleste is how it offers a path where you perfectly combine growing and learning in conjunction with contributing and engineering on real projects. I share my experience internally through in-house courses during a weekly project called ‘Caeleste University’, my colleagues do the same. This drives fast knowledge sharing and accelerating growth both for the engineer and company.

Arne Crouwels
Lead Design Engineer

I am happy to be part of a company with such an innovative R&D spirit as Caeleste. The diversity of the projects offers me challenges that help me grow as an engineer. It is my team’s responsibility to bring a sensor to ‘life’. I guarantee operational excellence for the customer’s application via technical support”.
