Senior Test & Characterization Engineer
As a Senior Test
& Characterization Engineer, you take ownership of the validation and characterization strategy of our custom-designed, advanced CMOS image sensors.
You combine hands-on measurements with deep technical analysis to ensure our projects meet the highest performance standards. You are part of our
multidisciplinary engineering team, and you work closely together with the application engineers of our customers.
In this role, your responsibilities include:
- Full ownership of defining characterization and validation strategies for new projects.
- Identifying gaps and conceptualizing new workflows, toolsets, setups and automation possibilities.
- Investigating complex image artifacts and performance limitations.
- Validating new designs, analyzing performance and translating measurements into technical insights.
- Collaborating with design/system engineers on Design-for-Testability (DfT) and driving improvements based on characterization findings.
- Preparing technical reports and presenting results to internal teams, customers and subcontractors.
- Acting as technical expert in discussions to explain test results and trade-offs.
- Software development of sensor- and equipment-specific control, measurement automation, as well as developing algorithms for electro-optical analysis.
What do we expect from our new colleague?
- You have a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering (Electronics, Microelectronics), Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, Nanotechnology or a related field.
- You have 5+ years of experience in test engineering, characterization, validation and qualification.
- You are a team player with direct and transparent communication and strong writing and presenting skills in English.
- You enjoy taking ownership and acting as a technical reference within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- You are comfortable in a dynamic environment and able to shift your focus in support of urgent project priorities and technical milestones in coordination with project leadership.
- You are a fast learner of theoretical concepts, with a proactive attitude towards learning.
- You are motivated by hands-on lab work and are available for occasional international travel to support customer integrations or subcontractor site visits.
- You have proficient programming experience (e.g. Python, C/C++ or similar) in developing, debugging and maintaining code.
- You are experienced in interpreting datasheets and specifications and translating them into structured test procedures.
- You are familiar with writing technical documents in a clear, structured, and to-the-point manner.
